Mark Abdilla, guitar

Mark is a concert guitarist who grew up in the San Francisco Bay area.   Although he was originally influenced by pop-rock music, Mark discovered the soothing beauty of  Renaissance, Baroque, Classical , Flamenco Celtic and Brazilian Jazz guitar genres while earning his bachelors degree at San Francisco State University  with classical master Saul Gropeman. Having studied under  Charles Ferguson, Mark also hold an  Associate Arts Degree from College of San Mateo in classical guitar.  

Mark attended master guitar classes with arguably the greatest classical guitarist in the world, Manuel Barruco.  Performing at the Edinburgh ( Scotland ) Fringe Festival in August 2000, Mark has been asked to perform there every year since. He has also performed solo and with various ensembles in England, Ireland, Italy, Spain , Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Poland, and Hungary.

While not teaching he is busy as a professional performer throughout Northern California performing at Private functions, wineries, Weddings, house parties. Abdilla  performs once a year at Grace Cathedral  ( S. F.) and Cathedral of Christ The Light in Oakland. 
        

Marks Rock n Roll side includes writing songs and performing with various local bands including General Jones. Being influenced from Lutenists John Dowland to  rock legend Jimi Hendrix, he is a very versatile, patient effective and fun teacher to learn from.  Abdilla teaches Guitar, Bass, Ukalele  and Mandolin. While on a 2 year hiatus 1993 - 1995, Rock legend of the band Metallica  Kirk Hammett attende San Francisco State University studding jazz, and was  instructed by Abdilla. Mark  Has been teaching students of all ages/ levels for 29 years.
